We’ve gotten a few emails from folks who were a little confused about how this whole podcast thing works, so we thought it’d be a good idea to spell it out FAQ-style right here. 100% enjoyment of Sketchfest TV is just a quick read away!
Q: What is SketchFest TV?
A: It’s a weekly sketch comedy show.
Each week we feature three of the best sketch comedy groups in the country.
Q: SketchFest? What?
A: That’s a sketch comedy festival.
SketchFests are annual sketch comedy festivals hosted in a half dozen or so cities in North America. For a weekend or two, each festival brings the best sketch groups together to show the host city what’s going on in the big world of sketch comedy. Sketchfests routinely sell out their shows, get tons of press, and have developed a devoted fanbase since the first one in Seattle (1998).
Q: What is the best way to enjoy SketchFest TV?
A: Subscribe To Our Podcast
The video files attached to the podcast feed are of a much higher quality than either of our other formats. The podcast uses QuickTime 7’s advanced compression technology to give incredibly crisp video quality in a relatively small file size. Plus, if you subscribe, you get each new episode delivered to your iTunes library automatically, mere seconds after it’s released.
Q: I don’t have an iPod, that means I can’t watch the show, right?
A: Wrong.
All you need to enjoy the full quality podcast is the latest version of iTunes. iTunes is a free download for Windows and Mac, installs super-quick, and is simple as all get-up to use.
Q: Wait a minute. Did someone really ask “What’s the best way to enjoy Sketchfest TV?”
A: No.
You got me there.
Q: Doesn’t iTunes cost money?
A: Not for podcasts.
Podcasts are hosted on iTunes for free download. You will not be charged for downloading Sketchfest TV through iTunes.
Q: My computer doesn’t run the latest version of iTunes. Please help!
A: That’s not a question.
But we do offer multiple versions of each episode including mp4’s, which are compatible with older versions of QuickTime, and a flash version on YouTube. We’re planning a couple of other formats as well, and we’ll let you know when they’re released.
Q: My sketch group would like to be involved. Can we submit something to you?
A: Sure.
If you’re a sketch comic and have a group, by all means, get in touch with us. We’ve already mapped out most of the first season, so it may not get in the podcast right away, but we’d love to know who you are and see what you do.
That’s about it. If you have any other questions or comments about the show, give us a shout at info@sketchfesttv.com. Thanks!
